ECU Remapping Umhlanga
Umhlanga brings us a different mix to the rest of the province — more performance cars and executive saloons, and more owners who commute the N2 daily and want the car to feel sharper doing it.
Umhlanga is at sea level. We are Durban-based and cover all of KwaZulu-Natal by appointment.

What we calibrate around in Umhlanga
- A high proportion of the work here is petrol — BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Audi, Golf R and Porsche rather than working bakkies
- For a daily N2 commute, mid-range response matters far more than a peak figure you will never use
- Transmission calibration alongside the engine map makes the biggest difference on these cars, and it is the part most generic files ignore
- Sea-level air density means we calibrate for denser intake air than an inland tuner would
Umhlanga is a short run from us. Appointment-based, and we confirm where and when once your slot is booked.
What we offer
- Stage 1 calibration on standard hardware
- Stage 2 and Stage 2+ with downpipes and exhaust work
- DeGraaf performance exhaust systems
- Diagnostics, DSG / TCU calibration and file services

Straight answers
Questions worth asking
If a tuner won't answer these plainly, that tells you something.
Will a remap damage my engine?
Not when it's done properly. We calibrate inside the mechanical and thermal limits of your specific engine and leave every factory protection strategy intact. The figures we chase are the ones the hardware can live with long term — which is why our cars are still on the road years later. A tune that ignores those limits isn't a tune, it's a bet.
Does tuning affect my warranty?
A modified calibration can affect a manufacturer warranty claim, and any tuner who tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. We'll talk through your situation honestly before you commit, and we can return the ECU to its original file whenever you need.
How long does it take?
A Stage 1 calibration is usually a same-day job. Stage 2 builds involving hardware fitment and dyno validation typically need the car for longer — we'll tell you exactly what to expect when we quote, not after we've got your keys.
Are the numbers on this site real?
Yes. Every figure published here came from a car we tuned and measured. Where a gain is quoted at the wheels, we say so. Where it's a peak output, we say that too. Your car's result will depend on its condition, fuel quality and hardware — which is exactly why we measure rather than promise.
What fuel should I run afterwards?
For petrol builds we calibrate around the fuel you'll realistically use and tell you the minimum octane to stick to. Diesel calibrations are less fuel-sensitive, but consistent quality diesel and a healthy filter make a measurable difference.
Do you tune vehicles from outside Durban?
Regularly. Plenty of customers travel in for a build, and we also provide a file service for workshops elsewhere in the country. Message us and we'll work out the practical option.
