Stage 1
Best for: a daily that feels flat, a bakkie that struggles under load, or anyone who wants a genuine improvement without touching the hardware.
- No parts required
- Usually a same-day job
- Fully reversible
Services
Four things, done to one standard. Whether it's a daily bakkie that needs to pull properly or an M3 that deserves better than a generic file, the process is the same.
Stage 1
The biggest single improvement most cars will ever get, and it needs no hardware at all. We rewrite fuelling, boost, ignition and throttle mapping around your engine — then prove it on the road.
Proven example: Ford Ranger 2.0 TDCi FX4 — 125 kW to 150 kW, +90 Nm, on completely stock hardware. See the build.

Stage 2 & 2+
Bolting on an exhaust and leaving the ECU alone wastes most of what you paid for. Stage 2 means the hardware and the calibration are developed together, so the parts actually do what the box promised.
Proven examples: Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 DI-D at +51 kW / +163 Nm, Hilux 2.8 GD-6 at +44 kW / +120 Nm and Amarok 3.0 V6 at +41 kW / +120 Nm — all measured at the wheels. See all results.

Hardware
We only supply parts we've tested on our own builds. That mostly means DeGraaf stainless performance exhausts, downpipes and the supporting components that make a Stage 2 build hold together.

Diagnostics & files
ECU reading and writing over OBD or on the bench, fault-driven diagnostics, transmission calibration, and a file service for workshops that would rather send the job to someone who does this every day.

Choosing a stage
Best for: a daily that feels flat, a bakkie that struggles under load, or anyone who wants a genuine improvement without touching the hardware.
Best for: owners ready to fit hardware and want the calibration built around it — towing, load carrying, or simply a lot more of everything.
Best for: a full build. Everything Stage 2 offers, taken further with a complete exhaust system and a calibration developed around the lot.
Not sure? That's normal — tell us what the car does wrong today and what you want from it, and we'll tell you which stage actually solves it.
Straight answers
If a tuner won't answer these plainly, that tells you something.
Not when it's done properly. We calibrate inside the mechanical and thermal limits of your specific engine and leave every factory protection strategy intact. The figures we chase are the ones the hardware can live with long term — which is why our cars are still on the road years later. A tune that ignores those limits isn't a tune, it's a bet.
A modified calibration can affect a manufacturer warranty claim, and any tuner who tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. We'll talk through your situation honestly before you commit, and we can return the ECU to its original file whenever you need.
A Stage 1 calibration is usually a same-day job. Stage 2 builds involving hardware fitment and dyno validation typically need the car for longer — we'll tell you exactly what to expect when we quote, not after we've got your keys.
Yes. Every figure published here came from a car we tuned and measured. Where a gain is quoted at the wheels, we say so. Where it's a peak output, we say that too. Your car's result will depend on its condition, fuel quality and hardware — which is exactly why we measure rather than promise.
For petrol builds we calibrate around the fuel you'll realistically use and tell you the minimum octane to stick to. Diesel calibrations are less fuel-sensitive, but consistent quality diesel and a healthy filter make a measurable difference.
Regularly. Plenty of customers travel in for a build, and we also provide a file service for workshops elsewhere in the country. Message us and we'll work out the practical option.
