Dyno tuning
Dyno Tuning
Durban
A dyno is the only honest way to know what a calibration actually did. Not a feeling on the road, not a figure off a supplier's spreadsheet — a measured before and after on the same car, on the same day.

Why it matters
Most published figures are not measured
Plenty of tuning sites list a gain for every vehicle they have heard of. Those are usually supplier estimates copied from a file catalogue, not numbers from the car in front of them.
- We run a baseline before anything is changed
- We calibrate, then measure again on the same dyno, same day
- You get both runs — not just the flattering one
- If the result is not worth publishing, we do not publish it
Ask any tuner for a before and after on the same dyno. The answer tells you most of what you need to know.

Questions worth asking
If a tuner won't answer these plainly, that tells you something.
Will a remap damage my engine?
Not when it's done properly. We calibrate inside the mechanical and thermal limits of your specific engine and leave every factory protection strategy intact. The figures we chase are the ones the hardware can live with long term — which is why our cars are still on the road years later. A tune that ignores those limits isn't a tune, it's a bet.
Does tuning affect my warranty?
A modified calibration can affect a manufacturer warranty claim, and any tuner who tells you otherwise is not being straight with you. We'll talk through your situation honestly before you commit, and we can return the ECU to its original file whenever you need.
How long does it take?
A Stage 1 calibration is usually a same-day job. Stage 2 builds involving hardware fitment and dyno validation typically need the car for longer — we'll tell you exactly what to expect when we quote, not after we've got your keys.
Are the numbers on this site real?
Yes. Every figure published here came from a car we tuned and measured. Where a gain is quoted at the wheels, we say so. Where it's a peak output, we say that too. Your car's result will depend on its condition, fuel quality and hardware — which is exactly why we measure rather than promise.
What fuel should I run afterwards?
For petrol builds we calibrate around the fuel you'll realistically use and tell you the minimum octane to stick to. Diesel calibrations are less fuel-sensitive, but consistent quality diesel and a healthy filter make a measurable difference.
Do you tune vehicles from outside Durban?
Regularly. Plenty of customers travel in for a build, and we also provide a file service for workshops elsewhere in the country. Message us and we'll work out the practical option.
